Dear Sebarke,

Colonial Office,

Downing Street,

S. W. 1.

26th January, 1946.

I am sending you the Dental Report of the Stanley Camp together with a condensed version of it which Shields handed to me.

I had asked Shields to take these documents to you and he states that he tried to find you several times but was unsuccessful. He has now returned to Hong Kong on a temporary contract for one year.

One important point to be settled is the extent to which he should be compensated for the use of dental materials and instruments which were his personal property and which were taken to the Stanley Camp and used for the treatment of interned persons generally. You will find reference to this equipment in paragraphs 3, 4, 8, 10 and 13 of his letter to Dr. alentine dated 4th January, 1943, and a list of the stocks in question is given in Schedule A attached to that letter. We should be glad to have your comments as to whether he should be refunded to the equivalent of Hong Kong dollars 6478 15 cents as stated in that schedule.

Rele vent to this is, of course,

is, of course, the question as to whether or not he received any remuneration for treatment from people who he treated in the internment camp. On your suggestion I obtained from

him a statement on this point a copy of which I attach.

If you have any comments to make on other parts

DR. P. S.
