MANCHURIA.
This is not the first occasion that the Comunists have tried to gain control of territories in China through a critical situation in CURIA. A similar ovent occurred in the spring of 1932, when, taking advantage of the situation following the Japanese invasion of INCHURIA, the Communists in Central China resumed their activities by threatening sections of the MIPIFC-JKO railway including .KEI, and MOIN provinces. CIG then assumed the post of Comander- in-Chief of the Anti Communist expedition and personally directed operations in the KIANGSI-HUPE area.

A vigorous military campaign took place, and as a result, the Comunists in UE, HOMA and AMI were completely routed and their stronghold in CINC IASAI and GINCHI on the JUFER-HOHAN border was captured, and by the end of the year the Communist remnants were driven to the Northwest. The result of this was the corr encoment of the Communist Government in VENAN.
