Police party under Mr. Thompson, Superintendent of Police, proceeded across to Kowloon to contact the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kowloon. Report was received from the Military of suspected signalling from Felix Villas. It was investigated
by Police but nothing was found.
On return from Kowloon L. S. A. 142 Kinloch dealt drastically with a Fifth Columnist found signalling with a torchacross to Kowloon from the O.S.K. Shipping Office, St. George's Building.
The Unit did duty along the Water Front whilst the troops were arriving from Kowloon.
Kowloon Brigade Headquarters, Waterloo Road, evacua- ted and proceeded to the Kowloon City Ferry Wharf to cross over to Hong Kong.
A meeting took place in the Commissioner of Police's office attended by the Commissioner and Director of Criminal Investigation with five representatives of some 60,000 members of Triad Societies in order to gain the latter over to the side of law and order. Information had been received of a plot for the mass murder of Europeans originally fixed to take place at 03.00 hours on the 11th. P.S.A.25 Gowans brought the crew of the Swedish Steamer "Ning Po" up to Central when they landed after scuttling their ship.
Second Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kowloon, evacuated by the last ferry from the Vehicular Ferry wharf and reported at Police Headquarters. No.2 launch towed a lighter containing 500 bags of rice across to Hong Kong.
On hearing revolver shots, the Assistant Superin- tendent of Police, Kowloon, visited the Kowloon Godowns with Lieut. Forsyte and some Indian troops who had arrived half an hour before. He discovered that godown coolies were removing rice from the Go- downs. No action was taken in view of the approach of the enemy and desirability that as little food as possible should fall into their hands.
No.3 Launch proceeded to Kowloon Docks to pick up a party reported stranded there. The launch waited until 02.15 but did notlocate them so continued on patrol on the North side of Kowloon Bay up to Yau Tong Bay, clearing launches over to Hong Kong. (Note: After the evacuation of Kowloon all Water Police Europeans on Harbour launch duty performed ordinary land duty at various stations.)
No.1 Launch evacuated Police under the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kowloon from the Star Ferry barricade after the latter had handed over to the Military.
Shots were heard coming from the direction of Caine Road. This was investigated by the Unit with no result. It was probably Police firing at unshaded lights as Sub Inspector Fell, the Officer in charge, himself had to in Hollywood Road.
Mount Davis and Kennedy Town were bombed. Severe
