Short title.

Interpretation.

A Proclamation concerning Crown Rents.

WHEREAS, notwithstanding the enemy occupation

and notwithstanding anything to the contrary

ordained by the occupying power, the annual sum

payable by way of Crown rent in respect of any

land held under a lease granted by the Crown remains

payable at the times fixed and to the amount

reserved by the lease or such amount as may have

been otherwise lawfully determined :

AND WHEREAS the occupying power has during the

period of occupation received payment of the

Crown rents of certain leased Crown lands in the

capacity of a usufructuary thereof:

AND WHEREAS the owner of leased Crown land, having

an estate therein by demise, is not relieved of

liability for the payment of the Crown rent there-

for by reason that the said land or the buildings

thereon or some part thereof may have been un-

occupied during the period of the enemy occupation

or any part thereof or may have been occupied by

the enemy or may have suffered damage due to war

operations:

AND WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to make provis-

ion for the payment of Crown rents and other

matters in connection therewith during the period

of military administration:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED as

follows:-

1. This Proclamation may be cited as the Crown

rents Proclamation, 194
