Provided that when the Presiding Officer is
a District Civil Affairs Officer the torm of imprisonment which may be imposed shall not exceed one year and the fine which may be inflicted shall not exceed one thousand dollars.
In any case rosulting in the imposition of a sentenoo or sentences of

imprisonment exceeding two years or consecutive terms of imprisonment exceeding two years in the aggregate (whether any such sentence be of imprisonment only or of imprisonment in default of payment of a fine); or
a fine or fines exceeding a total of one thousand dollars; or
whipping exceeding a total of six strokes;
the conviction and the sentence, or the convictions and the scntences, as the case may be, shall require confirmation by a President of the Superior Court exercising jurisdiction in the place in which such District Court was hold.

12. A confiming authority may -

REVIEW.
(a)
uphold the conviction and scntenge; or
(b)
uphold the conviction and reduce the sentence; or

(a)
quash the conviction and sentence and acquit the accused or order him to bo retried by a Court of competent jurisdiction;
make such other order as justice may require;
Provided always that in no case shall a finding of acquittal be reversed.
13. (1)
No appeal shall lie from a judgment, sentence or order of a Court, but any person aggrieved by any such judgment, sentence or order made against him may, if such judgment, scntence or order is subject to confirmation, within seven days of being notified of the order of the confirming authority, and if such judgment, sentence or order is not so subject, within fourteen days from the dato thereof, apply by petition for review. The petition shall be in writing and addressed to the trial Court, which shall when it is the Superior Court, without delay forward it, together with a record of the proceedings, to the Legal Officer for onward transmission to the Deputy Chief Civil Affairs Officer. When the Trial Court is a District Court, the petition and the record of the proceedings shall be forwarded by the trial Court to the Deputy Legal Officer of the Region in which such District Court was held for onverd transmission to the Senior Civil Affairs Officer of such Region.
