imprisonment for any term not exceeding two months,
(2) In every such case the court shall record
the facts constituting the offence, the statement
if any, made by the offender, and the finding and
sentence.
(3) In every case dealt with under this section
the court,may, in its discretion, discharge the
offender or remit the punishment or any part thereof
on the offender making an apology to the satisfact-
ion of the court.
Article 19
Advocates and Prosecutors.
(1) No person shall conduct the defence of
another in the Standing Military Court unless.
the Deputy Director has authorised him to act in
that capacity.
(2) No person except an officer of the British
and Allied Forces or a member of the Hong Kong
Police Force not below the rank of Sub-Inspector
shall without the authority of the Deputy Director,
be entitled to prosecute in such Court.
Article 20
Confirmation of Sentences.
(1) No sentence of death shall be carried
into effect unless and until it be confirmed in
writing by the Senior Officer of the Forces of
His Britannic Majesty inthe Colony, or by an officer to whom he shall have delagated authority
in writing.

(2) Every sentence involving imprisonment
exceeding two years (whether such sentence shall
be a sentence of imprisonment only or a sentence
of imprisonment combined with a sentence of further
imprisonment in default of payment of a fine) or
a fine exceeding two thousand dollars or a for-
