American Red Cross Account.
This account was the first one started by Dr. P.S. Selwyn-Clarke with funds supplied by American Red Cross Funds raised by Mr. A.W. Gibson repatriated as American in June, 1942.
Total receipts from American Red Cross
HK$257,512.56.
The fund was administered by Dr. Selwyn-Clarke, Mr. A.W. Gibson and Mr. E. Pawley (American) and was used for purchase of supplies sent to Stanley Civilian Internment Camp. A few donations to destitutes in whom the Americans were interested were paid from the balance left by the Americans.
At the time of my internment (7th May, 1943) the balance of this fund was HK$3,961.16.
