it worth while to include and suggests at what cost the work was achieved.

Copies of this Report are being sent to the C.C.A.0. (Brigadier mucDougall), Sir Mark Young and wr. Gimson and a copy how also been put on Dr. Selwyn-Clarke's personal iile.

Dr. Rae will wish to see this second Report and will perhaps say whether he thinks a copy might be sent to the- G.M.J.

Sir John Shuckburgh has already received a copy of (2) (see 4) snu should now see 5.

Mr. Gent may like to consider whether both Reports should be soon by higher authority.

The two Reports at 6'by Dr. Fehily who is in charge of the Medical Department of the Civil Affairs Administr. tion are dated 12th and 25th October respectively. They were amongst a batch of 22 others covering the whole range of the Administration send to us by Brig. MacDougall. covering letter dated 7th November is registered at 1 ou 24144/45/3 but contains no reference to the Medical branch. On the whole the reports seem to me encouraging although clearly a good deal or anti-malarial work will need to be undertaken to bring down the present death rate. The non-ar.ival from 5.A.S.2.A. ol culi lymph for smallpox vuccimation is serious, but presumably it has now been received or we should have heard by telegram. Both Reports refer to the grave shortage of staff. Col. Seage.ick of H.K.C.". has seen and the War Orrice have received copies direct. Dr. Mae and Mr. Gent should see.
