FIRE BRIGADE.

1. The Fire Brigade was officered by Europeans with Chinese firemen. The establishment consisted of 10 British,

1 Portuguese and 250 Chinese.

2. The excellent equipment included 11 motor fire

engines, 2 fire floats and 12 ambulances. The ambulances

were maintained by the Chief Officer of the Fire Brigade

for general use by hospitals.

And hey!

3. An expert will be appointed as Chief Executive Fire Officer, he will advise on replacement of fire fighting

apparatus and equipment.

The Brigade will be recreated on the lines of the

origina-t-ene. Its duties will include inspection of all

entertainment buildings, stores for dangerous goods,

boarding houses etc., with a view to issuing instructions

and giving advice regarding fire security matters.

The question of the re-employment of the Voluntary Auxiliary Fire Service
