In view of anticipated hand-over to Civil Government on 1st February
Colonial Office enquiring as to estimates of revenue and expenditure after
that date. Colonial Office suggest you may consider there would be
advantages in taking this opportunity of changing period of Colony's
financial year to correspond to calendar year. If so, we agree no estimates
are required for period 1st to 31st January 1946. Colonial Office would
however be glad to receive by telegram provisional estimates of revenue and
expenditure for period 1st February to 31st December 1946 as soon es
possible; and detailed estimates by 30th June 1946.
