I have the honour to eubmit the following report in accordance With a request received from Hr. D.k. KadDougall in kontreal on December ână, 1943.

At the outbreak of hostilities I was on patrol duty (Water Police) in Hong Kong harbour. Precisely at # àn December 6th, 1941, Japanese planes came over bombing, machine gunning various objectives, and simultaneously attacking our New Territory positions. All New Territory Police Stations were evacuated according to plan, Cheung Chau and Tai O being taken care or by water rollos.

Cruising Launches Kos. 1,2,3 and 4, were recalled from territorial waters to the harbour where duties consisted of maintaining patrols, directing shipping, and preventing mass exodus of Chinese from Kowloon to Home

Fifth Golum activity infiltrated everywhere in the Colony, . g. a checa of all fire buckets on Police stations proved them to contain petrol, Leter, during hostilities, air raid sirene would sound the "mli clear" when onway planes were approaching.

On Wednesday afternoon, December 10th, I was detailed to proceed to Cha Awo Ling anchorage, which is situated on the Zowloon siue opposite Lyeemoon Pass, to disable and tow out of the harbour a number of chinese motor junks anchored there.

Hundreds of small craft were endeavouring to cross over to the Island. In reverse to this procedure, I noticed one
