I refer to your letter of the 12th August, on the subject of the salaries of teachers in grant-aided schools in Hong Kong.
We agree that the salaries of trained Anglo-Chinese Masters and Mistresses should be increased so that they are on the same scale as that approved for Masters and Mistresses of similar status and qualifications in Government schools. We, therefore, approve the additional expenditure of £7,000 per annum.
