Each student is required to present an essay on some subject in one of the branches of Medicine or Surgery, and to server as inteme in the hospitals. During the year, the student gives services in Medicine (including Pediatrics, Neurology, Dermatology and Syphilology) for four and one half months, in Surgery (including Orthopaedic surgery, Urology, phthalmology, and Otolaryngology) for four and one half months, in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for one month, and in Public Health for one month.
