We had hoped that they would also be
entitled to recognition by the General Medical
Council in virtue of this degree in order that
they could practice elsewhere, e.g. in Malaya.
I should be glad to know whether you consider
that the technical legal difficulties referred to
above would prevent their registration under the
United Kingdom Act. Even in that event, the
difficulty could no doubt be overcome in due course,
when the University is restored, by conferring these
degrees again pro forma in Hong Kong.
I should be grateful to have your views on the
various issues raised in this letter.
