Short Title.

Whereas the University of Hong Kong (in this Order called "the University") is established and incorporated under the University Ordinance, 1911, (in this Order called "the Ordinance")

of the Colony of Hong Kong (in this Order called "the Colony")

and the University was giremed by a Court, a Council and a

Senate whose powers were prescribed by the Ordinance and

the Statutes (originally set out in the Schedule to the Ordinance

and now in the Regulations of Hong Kong 1937 Edition)

And whereas circumstances have arisen in the Colony

Chauulla,

by reason of which the/Court, Council and Senate/are unable.

to exercise the functions vested in them by the Ordinance

and the Statutes.

And whereas it is expedient that a Committee should be appointed to exercise certain of the powers given to the Chausson,

Court, Council and Senate under the Ordinance and the Statutes.

Now, therefore, His Majesty in exercise of all powers

enabling him in that behalf is pleased by and with the advice

of the Privy Council to order, and it is hereby ordered as

follows:-

This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong University

(Medical Degrees) Order in Council,1945..

2.

As from the date of this Order there shall be

constituted a Committee to be known as the Emergency Committee for the Conferment of Medical Degrees of the University of

Hong Kong consisting of the persons whose names are se

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Ordinance and the Statutes the Committee shall have power to perform the functions of the Senate as set out in Statute 16/4); to propose Excise persons to the Chancellor for admission to medical degrees;
