functions of the Senate as set out in statute 16(2) and (4)

to determine what examinations and courses of study in

other Universities or places of learning shall be deemed

equivalent to examinations and courees of study in the

University and to propose persons to the Chancellor for

admission to Medical degrees, and to exeratae the power of the

Chancellor as set out in Statute 3(1) to confer degrees in

Medicine and surgery and any such degree so conferred shall

bo deemed to have been conferred at a congregation of the

whole University.

Provided that in exercising such powers the Committee

shall recognise only courses and examinations undergone at

another place of learning or University, which are equivalent

to the comparable courses and examinations which would normally

have been gone through by the students affected in the University,

and in computing the two years required by the Statute 3(3) to bc

spent at the University no account shall be taken of the period

or any part thereof during which the Colony has been in the

occupation of the military forces of Japan.

4. His Majesty hereby reserves to Himself, His Heirs and

Successora power with the advice of His or their Privy Council

to revoke, alter or amend this Order as to lim or them shall

seem fit.
