I am Airected by
Mr. Secretary Hall to appoint you to the office of chairmen on the University of Hong Kong Medical Degrees Emergency Com- mittee for the purpose of exercising certain of the powers of the Sonate and the Chancellor as prescribed by the Hong Kong University Ordinance 1911 end the Hong Kong Regulations (1937 2ition). The limitation of the powers of this Committee are described in Faragraph 3 of the attached order, to which Mr. 1611 wishes me to invite your particular attention.

Since it is anticipated that it will not be necessary for the Committee to sit more than two or three times, and that
its existence will not be of long duratio Mr. Hall proposes that your appointment should be in and honorary capacity.
