I am ready to discuss this draft at your convenience but it may be useful to indicate some of the points, which have occurred to me, as requiring further consideration.

The third recital refers to powers of the Court, the Council and the Senate; whereas article 3 of the Order confers on the Committee some of the powers of the Senate and the Chancellor, not of the

lit Count or the Council.

Need the powers of the Court and the Council be mentioned in the preamble if they are not mentioned in article 3 Conversely should not the power of the Chancellor to confer degrees be mentioned in the preamble? whence is it derived!

Article 3.

Should there be any reference to the "congregation" in the preamble? and any reference to its statution functions in relating to degrees?

5. I assume that somewhere (? Regulations) the conditions (e.g. courses of study, examinations, etc.) precedent to the conferring of degrees are prescribed.

Should not these (?) Regulations

be suspended and something else substituted for them, e.g. by prescribing that the
