TG 111.2 entered Hongkong today without opposition and seized Naval Dockyard from which all Japanese wore a jacted including tho Naval and Military commanders.

(2) A large number of suicido boats wore obscrved in Picnic Bay. Three of these wore soon to leave the bay and attacked by aircraft with score of onc sunk, one beached and onc returned to harbour. These boats were then woll bombed and most of them are now ashore.

(3) VENERABLE is romaining at sea for the present and keeping continuous air patrol over Honkong.

(4) Japanesc appear quite docile and Chinc so populace arc boginning to handle them rather roughly. Japancsc stato they have had no mail from Japan for six months.

(5) Am mccting Japanesc commander tomorrow to discuss arrangements for maintaining law and order and oventual surrender.

(6) Gimsoy and Administration council appear to have thec situation woll in hand cxcept for their ability to maintain law and order and the shortage of supplics. Japs are still endeavouring to remove food and other stocks but this is being stopped.

(7) This afternoon I visited all Prisoner of War and Internment camps, and also British hospitals. We received a most tumultuous welcome and it was magnificent to soc the high state of moralo dospite the obvious cffccts of malnutrition. Altogether a most moving afternoon.
