In last paragraph of report enclosed in your despatch No. 705 reference is made to "four important East China coastal cities".
2. Can you ascertain discreetly what four places are meant, and whether Hong Kong is one of them?
3. There have also been references in recent UNRRA plans for China to a "four port scheme" i.e. a scheme involving importation of relief goods at four Chinese ports when they become available. We have been unable to ascertain here what ports are involved in this scheme, but they may be same ones as those referred to in Central News Agency
message.
