A meeting was held in the Foreign Office
at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon, 3rd August, to
discuss the question of the relief and
rehabilitation of ritish subjects and the
safeguarding of British rights in occupied
China, on liberation.

The Air Kinistry were asked to attend but were
not represented.
JR. STERNDALE BENKIRI said that the
general subject before the meeting was the
safeguarding of British interests in occupied China, especially at the seaports.
The first
problems were the care of British internees
and the safegarding of British property rights.
