CO129-591-13 Military Administration- proposed civil Affairs Agreement with China 20-7-1945 - 11-8-1945

General MacArthur stated in September, 1944, that the

presence in Australia of British Officers, who would

later participate in Civil Affairs activities in Borneo,

would be welcome. In January, 1945, we were informed by

telegram that the complete Borneo Unit was required to

assemble in Australia without avoidable dday, and they have

now taken post in the field.
