Miss Ruston
The Bishop of Hong Kong came
round for a long talk the other morning. He is anxious to return to Hong Kong with the Unit and I am anxious that he should it possible do so. He has now sent me a card saying that the Archbishop of Canterbury, at the suggestion of the Chaplain General, is personally approaching the War Office to see whether they will facilitate his return to Hong Kong, presumably with the Unit.
If that approach fails I
should then propose the Bishop as a
member of the Relief Department in the
Military Government. He has much experience
of relief work among the Chinese and would be invaluable to us.
