Dear Sir Sydney,

As you are aware, it will be necessary for me to instruct Parliamentary Counsel to settle the Order allowing Companies

the Hong Kong and other Colonial Registers to transfer the English or Scottish Register.

on

So far as I can see there will be little alteration in the terms of the Order that we made in respect of the Channel Island companies, the only difference being the description of the companies to which the new order is to apply.

The previous Order commenced with the words "If the Board of Trade are satisfied as respects any company incorporated. under the Laws of Jersey or of any part of the Bailiwick of Guernse

Before I instruct Parliamentary Counsel, in order that the two orders may tally, I should like to know exactly how the companies are to be described in your order. Perhaps I had better see the draft order before I send my instructions.

I do not think that my order should take very long to settle.

The Right Honourable

Sir Sydney Abrahams, K.C.

Colonial Office,

S.W.1.

Yours sincerely,

Thrancis Britn
