Following from Sedgwick for Colonial Office,

Ad hoc allowances can be calculated here on basis suggested if following points are clarified (1) Is 10 years service to be calculated from December 25th 1941 or June 30th date of notice or September 30th 1942 when notice expired? (2) Are allowances to be retrospective from September 30th 1941?q(3) Is lump sum of 10 times pension plus pension to be given at Officer's option? (4) Is widow's and Orphan's pension contribution to be deducted at option on salary or pension?

2. We propose that all cases where Officers have worked for Japanese since fall of Hong Kong should be referred to you for individual decisions regarding pensions.
