General Conclusions.
Most of the above has already been met by F.0.telegram No.60 of 15.1.43, which approved ad hoc allowances to officers of 10 or more years service, with extra relier ir necessary. Mr.Sedgwick's letter was written six weeks before despatch or this telegram.
Ref.a) I suggest that the answer is Yes, if the need for
continued assistance is shewn. Telegram No.709 to Chungking (06/54123/7/3/3)stated that no time limit was placed on "relief f" & authorised Mr.S. to grant such assistance where a claim to salary had expired or where pension etc. was insugficient.
