The Hongkong military has agreed to release 124 Straits Settlement, Chinese and Annamite prisoners-of-war of whom 90% have been giv en work by the Japanese. Most of these prisoners had been engineering students in Hongkong and expressed their gratitude for their freedom and for the treatment shown to them by the Japanese.
