HONGKONG: JAPANESE FREEZE DEPOSITS IN 16 BANKS.

Hongkong: The Governor-General of Hongkong announced the suspension as on 31st December of payments on various deposits in 16 banks of an enemy character in Hongkong. These deposit payments have been almost completed under the supervision of the Hongkong branches of the Yokohama Specie Bank and the Bank of Taiwan, who have been charged with the liquidation of enemy banks in Hongkong.
