Your telegram No. 3 Arfar of January 25th regarding demolition of War stuffs in Hong Kong.

Escaped officers [sic] estimate as follows:

Oil. All installations except socony at Laichikik destroyed and it is unlikely that the Japanese secured any stocks other than some dumps on the island.

2. Materials. Godowns at Kowloon and [group undec: 2 letters]swi wharves destroyed but large stocks of food remain elsewhere; Whampoa cranes and machinery destroyed but Taikoo dock intact. Much shipbuilding and scrap material falls to the enemy. It is believed that most military stores. and guns were destroyed.

3. Shipping. Surplus naval and merchant ships scuttled but large proportion salvable.
