HONGKONG SHIPBUILDING.

Hongkong: Lt. Gen. Rensuke Isogai revealed that satisfactory progress had been made in the ship construction plans of the Government-General. He said it was the policy of the Government-General to obtain all the materials and labour necessary for the construction of ships locally without relying on Japan Proper. The present shipbuilding facilities at Hongkong are being devoted to the construction of ships for use in local waters, adding that as demands are satisfied Hongkong will begin in order to carry out its mission as the central distribution point for the Southern Regions, planning to adjust its warehouse system now under military control and further improve harbour facilities as soon as possible.
