3. (a) According to a report from Hongkong, a certain
number of motor and steam driven vessels have already been launched and the first launch built in Hongkong would shortly make her maiden voyage manned by Chinese sailors trained in Hongkong.
(b) Four merchant ships were reported to have been completed at the Hongkong yards and work was being carried on on two others. It is presumably one of these which will shortly make her maiden voyage. Various reports have also been received from time to time of the launching of large wooden ships with sails and auxiliary motors.
