HONG KONG.
Information from other sources:-
1. (a) The Japanese are partially reversing their
policy of encouraging the evacuation of persons from Hongkong, which was due to food shortage. Nobody may leave without a free passage from the Government. They are now preventing Chinese able- bodied youths from leaving, as they are required for military service.
(b) Another possible explanation is the need of labour for ship repairs.
