DOCKS IN RUINS AT HONGKONG
The Queen's Pier at Hongkong was completely destroyed and the naval dockyards at Taikoo laid in ruins during the three-day bombing of Hongkong by American bombers at the end of July.
This has been disclosed by a Chinese journalist, who was an eye- witness of the raids and who has just arrived in the interior of China, says Reuter's Chungking corres- pondent.
A delayed message from the head- quarters of the 14th U.S. Air Force, quoted by A.P. today, says runways and hangars at the Japanese big Tienno airbase at Canton have been pounded again by Mitchells.
All bombs were observed to! explode in the target area. At least 15 Zeros attempted to intercept, and three of them were destroyed and another probably destroyed.
