Haiphong. These small ships do not appear in any lists of ships of 1,000 g. r. t. and over and the increased use there of smaller tonnage in this way in the South-East Asia Trade is of interest.

Further reports indicate that some cargo for Japan from Tonkin is shipped to Hainan Island in small vessels, for transhipment into larger vessels there, and some moved to Tourane for shipment from that port.

The 0.S.K. are planning to use small ships for transporting apatite and anthracite between Haiphong and Hongkong. The Transport Corporation will direct the necessary shipping.
