Viscount Cranborne to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 24th June regarding losses of
firewood en route to and in Hong Kong.

I am to inform you that the contents of your letter have been noted, but that it is not possible at present to make any statement on the subject. The whole question of losses through enemy action in the Far East or elsewhere, is now under examination by the Departments concerned. I am to enquire however whether it is possible to provide a copy of the
