allowed in.

Chairman: Up to that point there was nothing to which you could take

exception?

Mr. Sequeira: Nothing. As the servant was walking towards the studio,

Mr. Poinsot came past me and as he did so he stopped and asked me

very discourteously "what are you doing here?" I replied "I have

been attended to." He replied "You are not allowed here." I then

said "I am sorry. # He then asked me, "Which door did you come in by?"

I pointed out the door and without further ado, he said "Get out by

that door. I said "I beg your pardon." He asked me, "Are you leaving

or not." I asked to be allowed to see an officer.

He replied that I

could not and that I had to enter the office by the front door. I

hesitated and he said enquiringly "Well? " I then walked out as I felt

he was resolved to reject me. I then left and after some difficulties,

I entered the office by the front door and completed my business

without any further difficulty.

Chairman: But after some difficulty? Was that due to the crowd at

the front door?

Mr. Sequeira: Exactly. I returned later at 5.15 p.m. to report the

matter to Mr. Forrest but as he was engaged, I saw Mr. Walter Hamming

Chen and related the incident to him. He said that he was sorry and

suggested that I should complain in writing when Mr. Forrest would

attend to it. I wrote to the Immigration Officer on the following

day and complained about the treatment I had received but I did not

get any reply. My letter was handed by me to r.

lẤT. Walter Heuning

Chen. I wrote again to the Immigration Officer on the 6th February

again I handed the letter to Mr. Chen out I have received no reply.
