Mrs. Black wife of A.W. Black partner in Hong Kong firm of marine surveyors and one of three surveyors appointed by the British Corporation Register of Shipping and Aircraft 14 Blythswood Square Glasgow, for war work here of ship surveying, having been evacuated from the colony obtained permission to re-enter temporarily for the purpose of medical treatment on the undertaking that she would leave again as soon as fit. She now declines to leave and her husband's firm insists on employing A her as a clerk maintaining that her services are
urgently required in that capacity. She has been ordered to leave the colony but declines to obey. This is a more than usually grave case of defiance of the law but before any more drastic action is considered to penalise her and secure her compliance I should be glad if Mr. Black's employers the British Corporation could be asked for their good offices in endeavouring to persuade Black to send his wife out of the colony again.
