The laboratory work for the above patients was done by the
Benguet Laboratory. This service was given free to the Red Cross
by the Benguet Consolidated Mining Company.
Evacuees were accompanied by Red Cross nurses on the train
trips to and from Baguio. Those who needed further medical at-
tention on the trip to Australia were reported to the physician
in charge on the ship.

living quarters for the following classes: expectant mothers,
babies, small children, and those with minor illnesses.

Donald M. Ward. The doctor was available for consultation
morning, afternoon, and for one hour during the evening.
Red Cross nurses and one Bureau of Health nurse were on day
duty, and two Red Cross nurses were assigned for night duty.
A Red Cross nurse of the volunteer group, supervised these
nurses.
