ENCLOSURES
FURTHER ACTION
Dear Masson,
dolonial office.
Downing Street,S.W.1. 29th November, 1941.
Taikoo Dockyard, Hong Kong.
Many thanks for your
letter of the 27th November on the subject of the evacuation
difficulties as affecting men in the employment of the dockyard. I rather fear that you are right in your supposition that permission for the return of any wives who so choose would not meet with
approval, but your letter raises some quite special points, and as soon as it has been fully considered I will write to you again.
Yours sincerely,
(ögd.) G.B.J. Gent.
