.As regards Mr. Gent's minute of 20/5. above the position is briefly as follows:- There are at the moment scattered through various Universities in free China 264 students of the University of Hong Kong who have made their way out of the Colony and are continuing their studies in free China. 230 of them are medical students and from the latter there has been a request whether they will in due course be admitted to the G.M.C. Register as they would have been if they had completed their degree courses in Hong Kong. Holders of Chinese degrees are not so admitted to the Register.
