The world has undergone many changes and Fast and West have been
drawn into closer contact A great evolution has taken place in
Support China in recent years and many thoughtful Chinese a movement of
frank and searching enquiry into the philosophy and faith that
lie at the base of the science, education and politics of the
Western democracies. In that direction the "niversity of Hong Kong,
as a trainer of youth, can give a helping hand, if the aims and
ideals which led to its foundation are maintained.
That has done much in the past cannot be gainsaid, but more is
called for and increased funds are necessary to make it worthy of
its founders and of all those who have shown such great devotion
to it in the past.
This is a work not only of local but also of Imperial Importance
and the support of the Empire should be forthcoming.
