WHEREAS it is provided by Clause two of the Instructions

under the Royal Sign Manual and Signet to the Governor and Comman-

der-in-Chief in and over the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies

bearing date the fourteenth day of February, 1917, as amended by

the Additional Instructions bearing date the thirtieth day of April,

1938, that the Governor in pursuance of Instructions from His

Majesty through one of His Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State

may, from time to time, by an Instrument under the Public Seal of

the Colony, appoint an additional official member of the Executive

Council of the Colony:

NOW I, Lieutenant-General Edward Felix Norton, Companion

of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Companion of the Distin-

guished Service Order, Military Cross, Officer Administering the

Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and

its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same, in pursuance of

Instructions from His Majesty through the Secretary of State for

the Colonies, do by these presents, and subject to His Majesty's

pleasure, appoint you, Captain Alfred Creighton Collinson, Royal

Navy, Commodore in charge of Naval Establishments, Hong Kong, to

be an additional official member of the Executive Council of the

Colony.

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony at

Government House, Victoria, Hong Kong, this twenty-seventh day of

November, 1940.
