I have the honour to refer to my secret letter

No.65 of 16th August, 1940, regarding attacks on Chinese

junks near Hong Kong by Japanese naval vessels, and to Enclosure No.1 forward for Your Excellency's information a list of such

attacks on junks from 1st July, 1940, to 30th September,

1940, in continuation of the list forwarded with my secret

letter under reference. A summary of the number of

vessels attacked during this period and their casualties

Enclosure No.and losses is also enclosed.

Copies of this letter are being sent to the

Secretary of State for the Colonies, His Majesty's

Ambassador, Shanghai, His Majesty's Embassy, Chungking, and

the Commodore, Hong Kong.
