Nature of Incident

This junk arrived in Kwong Hoi on the 26.2.41 and anchored there. On the 3.3.31 the Jap- anese occupied the town and the crew took to the hills. Some of the fokies later re- turned to the junk and found 710 piculs of salt had been removed. Japanese lighters had been seen alongside the junk. The junk was recovered. No one injured.

This junk was stopped and searched by a Japanese dos- troyer near Sam Mun Kwan. The cargo of beetroot & salt was not touched.

When sailing off San Mei this junk was stopped by a Japanese destroyer. The cargo was trans- ferred to the destroyer and the junk searched and the money taken away.
