LIMA CHAK, ¡37 years, Master of Unlicenced Junk, residing on board at Shaukiwan of SANMEIHOIFUNG,states:-
At the 14.00 hrs. on the 27.10.41 I sailed from
SAN MEI (Lat.22° 46' N. Long. 115° 25' E) with a crew of 4 altold and a cargo of 6 piouls of vegetables which I was bringing to Hong Kong to sell.
At about 12.00 hrs. on the 28.10.41 whilst sailing about 8 miles south east of SAME MUNG /]K#AN }{}(Lat. 22° 26'X.Long. 114° 39'E.) a Japanese trawler painted light grey, one funnel, two masta and flying a Japanese flag approached us from the north. When the trawler approached near us they beckoned to us to go alongside. We then went alongside the Japanese trawler and one Japanese sailor dressed in khaki uniform and armed with a baton boarded my junk and ordered us to transfer our cargo onto the trawler. Is we were transferring the cargo the Japanese sailor assaulted us with his baton telling us to hurry up. I was struck on the head causing a wound. After we had removed the cargo the trawler circled around us at about 150 yards distance and opened fire on my junk with machine gun. I laid myself down in the hold and my three fokis whe were standing at the stern were killed by the bullets from ɩ he machine gun..The trawler then sailed away in an easterly direction. When I got up my 3 fokis were already dead and I was suffering from a wound in the head. I then managed to sail my junk back to Shaukiwan where I arrived at about 08.00 hrs. on the 29.10.41. I then went to Shankiwan Police Station and made a report of the incident and the bodies of my three fokis were removed to the Public Mortuary and I was sent to the Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.

At 09.00 hours on the 30.10.41 I was present at the Victoria Public Mortuary where in the presence of the doctor and Police Officer I identified the bodies of SHEK SHUI TONGA SHING 1) SHUN and LOCHENG # as the bodies of my fokis shot by the Japanese
on the 28.10.41.
