With reference to paragraph 1 (a) annex to notę from Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs to His Majesty's Ambassador in connexion with treaty signed to-day, it is understood that both high contracting parties reserve the right to close any port to all overseas merchant shipping for reasons of national security,
With reference to paragraph 1 (G) annex to note from Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs to His Majesty's Ambassador in connexion with treaty aigned to-day, His Majesty's Ambassador informed the Chinese Government that trade between India on the one hand and Burma or Ceylun on the other has always been regarded as coasting tradě.
