Article 6. His Majesty the King having
long accorded rights to nationals of the Republic
of China within each of the territories of His Majesty to travel, reside and carry on commerce throughout the whole extent of that territory, the President of the National Government of the Republic of Chine agrees to accord similar rights to nationals of His Majesty within the territory of the Republic of China. In all legal proceedings and in all matters rela: ing to the administration of justice, the levy of taxes or requirementa in connexion therewith, and the carry- ing on of commerce, nationals and companies of
one . C. P. in the territories of the other H. C. P. shall enjoy treatment not less favourable than that accorded in those territories to the nationals
of the latter H. C. F.
Article 7. The Consular officers of one
H.C. P., duly provided with exequaturs, shall be permitted to reside in those ports, places and citi of the territories of the other H. C. P. which are or may be open to consular officers of any, foreign Power. The consular officers of one il. C. P shall have the right within their districts in the territories of the other H, C.. to interview, communicate with and to advise the nationals and companies of the former 3. C. P., and the nationals and companies of one H. C. P. within the territory of the other H. C. F. shall have the right at all

It will be necessary that the following should be recorded in a note or agreed minute. "with reference to paragraph (1) of Article 7 of the Treaty signed today, it is agreed that the Chinese Government will not claim by virtue of this
provision to station a Chinese consul at New Delhi the Chinese Government having already been accorded the right to establish a Commissioner at that City".
