I am directed by Lord Lloyd
to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 30th July addressed to Lord Halifax, which has been referred to this Department.
2. I am to explain that the appropriate authorities in Hong Kong and Manila have been instructed to forward lists showing the persons evacuated from Hong Kong, including those transferred from Manila to Australia. It will be appreciated that, while these are being forwarded by the quickest possible route, it is likely that in present circumstances there may be some delay before they are received in this country.
3. It is observed that your daughter and grandchildren have been evacuated to Manila and I am to explain that is Majesty's Consul-General there
