(e) Military Authorities already have funds for
this purpose but gesture appears to us desirable.
(4) In addition to the foregoing I wish to propose to the
Legislative Council immediate cash gift of £100,000 from the
Colony surplus.
(5) Proposals in paragraphs 2 and 4 have been unreservedly
accepted by the unofficial members of the Executive Council. Unless
I hear to the contrary from you I intend, but without disclosing
the figures in (c) - (e) above, to inform the Finance Committee
of them in confidence, next Thursday and as soon after as possible
to make them public.
