Dear Sir Alan,

With regard to our conversation on Thursday last, I

think I have now found the right man to go with me to Hong Kong

in the person of Mr Duncan Kennedy who, strange to say, lives at

16 Queen's Road, Beckenham, which is not far from my house.

Mr Kennedy is a full Member of the Institution of Civil

Engineers. He returned only a week ago from the Port of Beira,

Portuguese East Africa, where he has been employed under Messrs

T. S. Meik & Halcrow, who are the Engineers for that Port, as

Resident Engineer on the construction of new deep-water berths for

shipping.

Before that he was Resident Engineer for Messrs Rendall,

Palmer & Tritton in the construction of Chelsea Bridge. Prior to

that he was for 5 years as sectional Engineer on the London Royal

Docks approaches improvement scheme.

Going further back, he was for one year on Harbour

construction works at Bhavnagar, India, 2 years in Canada, one of

which was on Hydro-electric works and the other on the new Montreal Harbour Bridge.
